Our Story

A family house of cloth

VAYDHARA began in 1990 with our founder and one simple conviction: a saree should be made with patience, and its colour should stay true.

Three decades on, VAYDHARA is still a family's work. Our founder remains at its heart, and the next generation now works beside him — learning the craft on the workshop floor, and carrying what we make to the people who will wear it.

Our home is Jetpur

We work from Jetpur, in the Rajkot district of Gujarat — a town known across India for dyeing and printing cloth. Here the day moves in batches: fabric prepared, tied or waxed, dyed, rinsed, and laid out to dry in the sun.

What we make

Every VAYDHARA saree is made or finished in our own workshop:

• Bandhani — cloth pinched and tied by hand into countless tiny points, then dyed, so that each knot opens into a dot of the colour beneath.
• Batik — patterns drawn in hot wax that resists the dye, built up layer by layer.
• Patola — Gujarat's geometric ikat, where the pattern is dyed into the threads before the cloth is woven.
• Printed and dyed sarees — pieces for every day, finished with the same care as our festive work.

Our name carries a promise we take seriously. A saree from VAYDHARA should feel like an occasion — the kind of piece that is kept, worn again, and one day handed down.
